TIM WILLIAMS - BIOGRAPHY

Tim was born in Lexington Ky. Growing up in Nicholasville, Tim was a normal “kid on the block.” What set him apart in his own mind was the love of music that he shared with his mother Catherine. Not only did she have the passion but also the skills. Catherine had played piano since her childhood and was classically trained. The Mozart and Beethoven she would play became Tim’s first musical influence. His attention quickly turned to modern music when for his 8th Christmas his father Charles bought Tim his first guitar. After a few years of lessons and a change of instructors, Tim’s parents came across a local Musician named Harold Montgomery. Tim began lessons with Harold and it didn’t take the teacher long to recognize the students exceptional abilities. Tim’s experience was once again expanded when at the ripe old age of 13 Harold asked Tim to play with his band giving the young man his first real taste of success.

Though Tim knew his attention would be divided between school and performing, his sights were set. Bitten by the performance bug, he would later attend college but his heart was always drawn back to the stage. Once again fate stepped in for Tim during the winter of 1983 when Harold Montgomery called on Tim to join him on stage. This time as a bassist in a band that included a young John Michael and Eddie Montgomery. The two Montgomery boys recognized Tim’s abilities. Not long after their debut together the three young men decided to venture out on their own for what would turn out to be a long and sensational journey.

Tim remained with the Montgomery boys and together they experienced life on a grand scale. First in a band called Early Tymz which was made up of Tim, John Michael Montgomery and Eddie Montgomery. Troy Gentry later joined and the band was renamed Young Country. Tim went on to play bass guitar in the JMM band for 15 years. Along the way Tim developed his own skills as a performer and now would like to share his talents with the world.

Tim’s love of traditional country and southern rock gives his performances that extra kick that always leaves the audience asking for more, and that’s what Tim is willing to give to his fans. More love, personality and fun than anyone can imagine. Once you have heard and seen him perform you too will need to keep coming back for more.
